My name is Dan Banfield and I live in the West Midlands. I have collected Scoophead Cats by George Schmider Keramik of Western Germany and Arthur Woods of Stoke on Trent in England for over 45 years.

 

When I was 11 years old I bought my first two Scoophead Cat made by George Schmider Keramik of Western Germany and designed by Anneliese Beckh who designed the first ones the “Tigris Decor” cats in 1955 which was the atomic period/rockabilly period. The cats have increased in different decors over many years later.  I believe the Scoophead Cats were commissioned to Arthur woods of Stoke On Trent a few years after the “Tigris Scoophead Cats” were released. I love the fish eyes series but I guess I love them all really as they all have an individuality to them and most were one offs so  If you see one snap it up it may be a one off which most are, as I learnt over the 45 years I collected them.
